The Denes is a licensed
4 Diamond Guest House
dating from the Edwardian period is situated in Lynton, North
Devon England. Lynton and its twin village Lynmouth are enveloped within the
Exmoor National Park and occupy an area of outstanding natural and coastal
scenery. Our Lynton hotel itself lies at the entrance to
the Valley of Rocks just a step or two from our front door, a taste of which can
be seen in the photograph below. Our Lynton
accommodation is a prime choice for walkers travelling the SWCP, Two-Moors Way,
The Tarka Trail. The Coast Path between Lynton and Porlock was a favourite route
of Samuel Coleridge, the poet, and it is said that whilst gazing down on Lynmouth Harbour
inspired him to write "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner".
The
Denes is one of 'Devon's Hidden Places' and run in an environmentally sensitive
way. You can discover its Edwardian charms
as our previous guests already have. Sally and John extend their warm and
friendly greeting whether you are visiting us for the first time or a returning
guest. The Guest's TV lounge has its own feature fire place. Our bedrooms
are spacious and provide comfortable accommodation with some original
paintings that
tastefully complement the decor. At The Denes we can offer you bed and breakfast
accommodation or half-board for as long or short as you want; whatever your
holiday requires.
Environmentally friendly at The Denes you'll find no "portion control" as we aim to run our establishment
as "green" as possible.
The Denes Guesthouse is ideally situated to obtain a real Exmoor experience either by driving across the moors or preferably walking them. And before you leave you must absorb the surreal atmosphere of the Valley of Rocks. Check your itinerary and make sure you have sufficient time to spend here. One night is barely sufficient, two is really a minimum, but how ever long you stay you will always receive our generous hospitality.
