Sir George Newnes Memorial
June 9th
A commemoration of the centenary of the death of Sir George
Newnes on 9th June 1910. Lynton's greatest benefactor, Sir George gave Lynton
the Cliff Railway, the Town Hall, the United Reformed Church (his father was a
Congregational minister) and Lynton cricket pavilion in the Valley of Rocks as
well as the railway to Barnstaple. The 2pm train will carry children from
Lynton Primary School in Victorian costume.
Woody Bay Beer Festival
July 16th/17th/18th
What better combination than Real Ale and Steam Trains? A
selection of locally brewed Real Ales will be available at Woody Bay Station.

August 14th/15th This famous
children's book character will visit Woody Bay Station, which features in one of
the books in the series.
Annual Autumn Steam Gala September
25th/26th/27th
"Perchance it is not dead but
sleepeth" - This year we expect a visit from 'Lyd' which is a replica of the
Manning-Wardle locomotives that originally operated our railway. See our web
site for details and any special park-and-ride arrangements. A weekend of fun
for all for everyone from the family to the enthusiast. This weekend is packed
full of steam and side attractions.... an event not to be missed!
